How to Find Out if Someone is on Social Media

Learn tips and tools to find out if someone is on social media.

Social media platforms have become popular amongst users since it’s the most convenient way to stay updated with what loved ones are doing. Long lost friends can also find one another again and communicate with each other about what has been going on in their lives. However, social media platforms also contain catfish, cheaters, and children who try to hide their profiles from the ones they care about the most. This is why it’s important to know how to find out if someone is on social media.

How to Find Out if Someone is on Social Media

Use the Search Bar Provided by the Social Media Platform

If you are using Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, or another platform there is a search bar to search for people you would like to find. All you need to do is enter their name, email address, phone number, or social media username to see if they are on that social media platform.

If they are on that social media platform, then they will pop up on your search results page based on the information you entered. If you can’t find them, then it is possible that they could’ve changed their name or email address on the social media platform so that they no one can search for them.

Search by Location via the Search Bar on the Social Media Platform

Instead of entering their information, you can also enter the city and/or state that the person is from into the search bar. This will give you all the results of people who live within the area that you searched.

Once you search the location, scroll through the list of results that come up to find the person you are looking for. If you can’t find the person you are looking for within this list of people, don’t lose hope! It could be possible that they didn’t put their location in their social media profile.

Search By Someone’s Place of Employment or School

You can find out if someone is on social media by entering where that person works or where they go to school into the search bar. By doing this, you will get a list of people in your results page to look through. These results include all the people who work at the same place or go to school with the person you are looking for.

As you are looking through the results, look for anything that represents the person you are looking for. This person might be using a fake name or photo to try to hide from the people they care about. If you can’t find their profile, there is still one more thing that you can try.
