Plenty of Fish (POF) is a popular Canadian dating site. Until the last update, you could go on the site and look up any person you wanted to find, as long as you had their username. If you click on the POF logo on the top left of your screen, you can activate “my matches.” This will keep matching you with suitable profiles over time. This search is passive, and you might not be able to find anyone right away, but it can still be useful. 

Perhaps the most useful part of this feature is that you can choose to not match with anyone you’ve contacted before. This means that you won’t keep seeing the same kind of people over again and be able to find the right person eventually. 

4. Activate “My City” 

If you’re not having much luck finding someone on POF, you can activate the “my city” option in your location settings. It will narrow your search down a bit. This can only work if you’re positive that the person you’re looking for doesn’t live in a different city, though. 

After this, any searches you make and all the profiles you’re shown or are matched with will be from your own city or selected geographical range. 

5. Run a Reverse Search with Social Catfish
