The Spam and Open Relay Blocking System Blacklist

What this DNSbl says about itself

The Spam and Open Relay Blocking System Blacklist is a free to use DNSBL created in 2002. It currently has over 3 million users The DNSBL not only blocks spam, but also covers hacked and hijacked servers, formal scripts, and trojan infestations. SORBS considers all unsolicited commercial and bulk email spam and thus blocks it. It does not, however, flag solicited mail of any kind, nor unsolicited email considered to be non-commercial or bulk. List maintenance is done both automatically and manually, with a system that makes it harder for repeat offenders to get off the list the more times they are put on it.

Mail server administrators should never implement blacklists unless they are 100% sure of what they are doing. Misconfiguration can result in all incoming mail being blocked.
